President's CupPRESIDENT'S CUP 2021 Shamrock Rovers v Dundalk, 12 Mar 2021 Tallaght, 7.45pm The President's Cup was presented in 2014 by President of Ireland Michael D Higgins for an annual match between the League Champions and the FAI Cup Winners.
Last year's match was to take place on 09 Feb, when Dundalk were to host Shamrock Rovers at Oriel Park, but the fixture was postponed in view of severe weather warnings for that day, due to Storm Ciara.
Public health considerations which came into effect a month later effectively ruled out a refixture. SHAMROCK ROVERS | 1-1 | DUNDALK | Liam Scales 47 | | Sonni Nattestad 42 | | 3-4 | Dundalk win penalties | | | Sonni Nattestad s/o 59 |

Leinster Senior CupIn 2019/20, the first two Rounds had been played and the draw for the Third made, but the competition did not proceed any further due to health restrictions. As Junior and Intermediate Leagues have not been played for 2020/21, it was not clear what format the Leinster FA would adopt for a 2021 Senior Cup competition, which in the end was not to be played.

Extra.ie FAI CupIn previous years, the last sixteen teams from the Intermediate Cup and the four Semi-Finalists from the FAI Junior Cup would have been invited to enter the 2021 Senior Challenge Cup. However, changes necessitated by the truncated 2020 season forced the exclusion of any non-League teams from the Cup for the first time in peace-time, and neither the Intermediate nor the Junior Cup was being played during the period which would have been the 2020/21 season. The format for the 2021 FAI Cup was unannounced in advance, and while dates reserved for it in the Premier Division fixture list suggested a League-only competition, a qualifying round was drawn in June. The participants match the 2019/20 Intermediate Cup 4th Round teams (omitting Collinstown and Verona), together with the Junior Cup Semi-Finalists for the same season. Champions CupThe Champions' Cup, originally announced in February 2019, was to take place annually between the League of Ireland champions and the Northern Ireland Football League champions. The tie is sponsored by Unite, the Union. In November 2019, the 2018/19 NIFL Premiership champions, Linfield, lost over two legs to the 2019 League of Ireland Premier Division champions, Dundalk. The 2020 Cup was not played due to public health restrictions, but in November 2020 an expanded format was announced for the 2021 version, with 2020 qualifiers Shamrock Rovers and Linfield joined by the next top placed teams in the 2021 League of Ireland and 2020/21 Northern Ireland Football League. On 14 October 2021, the lineup of the resumed competition was announced in Belfast. Linfield and Coleraine, NIFL Premiership winners and runners-up respectively for the past two seasons, were to face off in a northern Semi-Final, while 2020 LOI Premier Division champions Shamrock Rovers (who lifted the trophy again in 2021) would have the 2021 Runners-Up as their opponents. The Final was to be played at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin on 04 December. However, amid concern over rising Covid numbers, on 19 November it was announced that the Cup would be "rescheduled" or "postponed" (both terms weremused) until 2022. Rhona McCord of Unite said that, "in order to ensure continuity, it was important for the semi-final fixtures - featuring Linfield and Coleraine in the Irish League section and Shamrock Rovers and St Patrick’s Athletic from the League of Ireland – remain aligned with the final, which now be played on a date to be determined in 2022.” Go to Top Premier Division First Division Playoffs President's Cup Women's National League Women's Senior Cup Leinster Senior Cup EA Sports Cup FAI Cup
