Bray's first game a mystery

2021-02-08

Bray Wanderers will open their 2021 League season at home on 26 March - to an as yet un-named opponent.

That's because the membership of the Division has yet to be finalised, with the licencing procedure not due to finish until 23 February.

As the FAI statement today explains, "If additional clubs are successful with their application for a First Division licence, and additional teams are granted entry to the First Division, the fixtures will be amended".

It is also still unclear whether the Leinster Senior Cup will be held this season, and what format the FAI Cup will have, as there are no Junior or Intermediate competitions in progress to provide the traditional non-League participants.

But Treaty United, or Rovers II, or perhaps some other club, will visit the Carlisle on the evening of Friday 26 March to open the seaside season.

The full First Division fixtures (E&OE, as they used to say in the Civil Service: "Errors and Omissions Excepted") are now in the Full Fixture List, as are the Womens National League fixtures.
