Tarzan leads the Wanderers way

A goal by star striker Kieran 'Tarzan' O'Brien knocked UCD out of the League Cup at the Carlisle Grounds. Tarzan's deflected winner was just reward for Bray Wanderers, who battle hard throughout this game, although they were helped when College were reduced to 10 men in the second half.

Bray took the lead after 27 minutes.

Dubliner Glen Brien was adjudged to have been fouled just outside the box by UCD defender Aidan Lynch. From the subsequent free-kick, taken by O' Brien, the ball sailed past Students' goalkeeper Barry Ryan via a crucial deflection off the wall.

UCd fought to get back into the game, but their chances looked slim after 69 minutes. Giant defender Clive Delaney was shown a second yellow card, so he was sent off.
