President's CupPRESIDENT'S CUP 2016 The President's Cup was established in 2014 after President of Ireland Michael D Higgins offered to present a trophy for such a competition. St Patricks Athletic, the 2013 League Champions, won the first playing of the pre-season event with a single Keith Fahey goal against 2013 FAI Cup winners Sligo Rovers. The 2014 winners and 2014 FAI Cup winners then went to Oriel Park in 2015, to be deprived of the Cup by 2014 League Champions Dundalk, on a 2-1 scoreline. They in turn, as 2015 Champions and FAI Cup winners, visited Turners Cross on Saturday 27 February 2016 to play the dual Runners-Up, Cork City. Irish Daily Mail FAI CupIf the FAI follows previous practice, the last sixteen teams from the 2015/16 Intermediate Cup and the four Semi-Finalists from the 2015/16 FAI Junior Cup will be invited to enter the First Round of the 2016 Senior Challenge Cup. The Intermediate Cup teams in the Fourth Round are Bluebell United, St John Bosco, Killester United, Portmarnock AFC, Ringmahon Rangers, Bandon AFC, Midleton FC, Glebe North FC, Rockmount AFC, Greystones United, Carrigaline United AFC, Letterkenny Rovers, Crumlin United, Firhouse Clover & Cherry Orchard.
