First Division Bishopsgate 14 Oct 2023 For those of a mathematical bent, Saturday's draw in Bishopsgate leaves a vanishingly small, and improbable, possibility of the Seagulls making the Playoffs next weekend. Bray would have to win and Athlone to lose with a combined goal difference in Bray's favour of +9 (and of course Treaty to lose or draw). That the visitors lost their 2-0 half-time lead to draw in the sixth minute of four minutes added time announced is a measure of how the season as a whole went. Indeed, it was not the first time this year that the Midlanders overturned a two-goal deficit against the Wanderers. They not only cancelled the home side's advantage, but went on to win 4-2 in the Carlisle Grounds last August.
