First Division Markets Field 09 Sep 2022 The Seagulls' defeat in Limerick suggests that their recent suuccesses were something of a false dawn. Both sides had early chances, Enda Curran seeing a shot come back off Stephen McGuinness's right post while Dean George headed over. At the far end Paul Fox shot over when close to the target and Colin Kelly also had the ball hit an upright. But the hosts hit the front at the end of that lively opening, Stephen Christopher beating McGuinness after clever interplay between George and Marc Ludden. And midway through the first period, George found the bottom left corner of the Bray net after Christopher's cross was cut back by Ludden. Despite a strong resumption by the visitors, there was little sign of an effective Bray rally until substitutes Callum Thompson, Darragh Lynch and Zak O'Neill injected some pace into the left wing, and Thompson's cross took a slight deflection off Treaty captain Jack Lynch to beat Jack Brady in the Treaty net. It proved, however, no more than a consolation on another depressing night for the Wicklow club.
