An error-strewn opening culminated in Bray conceding an unnecessary penalty ten minutes in, giving Enda Curran, the victim of the foul, a golden opportunity to put the visitors ahead from the spot, which he duly did.

The play up to then had been inconclusive, and it took some time for the Seagulls to recover any composure, but in the later stages of the half they made inroads into their opponents' danger area, without, however, capitalising on their raids.

After the break, Treaty seemed to uptheirpace across the field, and fortuitous though it seemed at the time, Curran's second, a lofted speculative shot that deceived Michael Kelly and snuck past him into the goal, was in a sense earned through their dominance for the rest of the game.

The result probably puts the end-of-season promotion playoffs beyond the reach of Bray for this season.
