A brace by Caolan McAleer midway through an otherwise undistinguished first half gave Bray boss Dave Mackey another opportunity to rehearse his 'Buck up lads!' speech at the break.

But he had much to worry about, with the Bray players yielding possession at the least prompting, and far too many wayward passes to record.

Reinvigorated, the home side pressed hard in the early stages of the second half and got their reward, in a goal well taken on the first touch by Paul O'Conor.

But that was as far as the revival got, and the Bit o' Red took all three points with them on the first of their three visits to the capital in a ten-day spell.
