Bray started well initially in the early stages but Boyd for Rovers had the first real dangerous chance to open the scoring in 20 minutes but was denied by a fine save from Bray ‘keeper Sean Fogarty

Stokes put Fogarty to the test minutes later and a header on from Boyd to Dobbs saw the latter get to the end line and put the ball across to Hamilton who just couldn’t get up high enough to meet it at the far post.

Bray’s Shane Barnes was booked in the 30th minute for taking Morgan down near the Rovers’ box. Quinn’s free travelled all the way to the opposite box and was met by Rossiter who tried a go himself but was blocked by Fogarty but Rossiter, with back to goal, got another touch on it and switched to Dobbs who seized on the ball and sent it into the back of the net.

The Hoops increased their lead further on 43 minutes when to Boyd finished a move with a strong shot that flew past Fogarty and across the line.

Substitute Dillon put Dobbs through in the 65th minute to finish into the net but Fogarty managed to make a save at Dobbs’ feet. Dobbs was denied yet again the 78th minute when James Doona tried to put him through but Padraig Murphy read it well and cut it out before Dobbs could get a touch.

On 86 minutes Dillon made it three when he scored with a powerful header.
