Under 19 season details

The groups and format for the 2016 Airtricity Under-19 League have been announced by the Football Association of Ireland. Following on from the interim season played at the end of 2015, this season will be aligned with the senior League of Ireland calendar for the first time.

The League will kick off on the week-ending Sunday 13th March 2016 and will comprise 20 Clubs who will be split into two groups, Northern Elite Division and Southern Elite Division. The groups will be played over a two-round basis; each Club playing each other Club home and away. Upon the completion of the regular League fixtures, the top four Clubs in each of the Northern and Southern Elite Divisions will progress to the Champions Knockout Phase.

The Under-19 League Cup will be played on a knockout basis, and within sections, until the Quarter-Finals.

Squads in the Under-19 League will consist of a maximum of 22 players.
