Leinster Senior Cup

In 2016, the Preliminary & 1st Rounds comprised ten junior league winners and the FAI Junior Cup winners. The four teams emerging were joined by the top two AUL clubs for the 2nd Round, and the winners then faced the top five LSL teams before the 12 League of Ireland teams from Leinster entered the 4th Round.
The 2019/20 arrangements appeared to be similar.

The first two rounds go to Extra Time & Penalties if necessary (i.e. no replays)

Extra.ie FAI Cup

Following previous practice, the last sixteen teams from the 2019/20 Intermediate Cup and the four Semi-Finalists from the 2019/20 FAI Junior Cup were expected to be invited to enter the 2020 Senior Challenge Cup.

The Intermediate clubs were: Killester Donnycarney, St Mochtas, Crumlin United, Letterkenny Rovers, Avondale United, Cobh Wanderers, Glebe North, Midleton, Newtown Rangers, UCC, Collinstown, Lucan United, Home Farm, Rockmount, Malahide United & Maynooth University Town. At the time of the FAI Cup draw, the Junior Cup Semi-Finalists were Regional United, Aisling Annacotty, St Michaels & Glengad United, but following a protracted protest, appeal and arbitration Regional were replaced by Sheriff YC in the FAIJC, and also in the FAI Cup.

The Junior Cup Semi-Finalists were Killarney Celtic, Sheriff YC, Evergreen and Boyle Celtic.

The FAI drew a "Qualifying Round" involving sixteen of the non-League teams, with four receiving Byes to the First Round, when they would be joined by the 20 League clubs.

However, changes to the 2020 Extra.ie FAI Cup necessitated by the truncated season forced the exclusion of any non-League teams from the competition for the first time in peace-time. Only six teams will take part in the First Round, with the others given Byes to the Second.
