Another heavy defeat for the Young Gulls, with Barnes and Noble saving their blushes late on.

The Seagulls were under the cosh almost from the start, and Gavin Sheridan did well do keep the score at the break to two down.

On eight minutes, Evan Cusack had an effort from the left headed over by Killian Hayes.

At the other end, Dylan Travers's shot from the edge of the area was off target. Then Killian Brouder’s ball over the top got away from Hayes.

On the quarter hour, a Hayes shot almost scrambled pas Sheridan into the net somehow slithered behind.

But soon after that, the Blues opened the scoring when Shane Duggan's shot was blocked. He retrieved possession and squared for Declan Cusack to tap in.

One the half-hour, Bray conceded possession in their own half, allowing Duggan to race into the area where Declan Cusack took the ball and buried it.

Six minutes before the break, Cusack nearly sealed his hat-trick with a 22m shot that Sheridan gathered at the second attempt.

Five minutes into the second half, Thomas Walsh shot over for Bray. Two minutes later, Mark Hoban set Hayes free down the right and with Sheridan stranded, he sent a low delivery across the box for Duggan to slot home.

Bray reduced the deficit on the hour mark when sloppy defending allowed substitute Sean Noble in to finish coolly beyond Arkadiusz Mamala.

But five minutes after that Limerick were three ahead once more, when sub Jack Lynch latched onto a pass and beat Sheridan with a low strike.

Mamala had to be alert to keep a Shane Barnes overhead kick out on 77 minutes, and did well to gather as Bray skipper Paul Murphy threatened the follow-up.

A minute later, Limerick sub Clyde O’Connell saw his speculative shot from distance held, and when Stephen Nolan tried his luck, the rising effort flew past the top corner.

Barnes eventually pulled another one back for Bray with only three minutes of normal time remaining, but there was still time for a sting in the tail.

And from a Limerick corner kick, Conor Maguire rocketed a shot just outside the six-metre box, giving Sheridan no chance.
