Bray undone by Limerick Mann
Elite Southern Fairgreen, Limerick Bray Wanderers U19s' unbeaten start to their season came to an end at the Fairgreen in Limerick on Saturday, as Tommy Barrett’s side bounced back from their first defeat of the season with a narrow victory. In very blustery conditions, which didn’t allow for free flowing football, the home side had to battle hard to maintain their early lead to the end. In the opening stages, Sean McSweeney and Ross Mann caused trouble for the Bray defence, forcing four corners in the first 15 minutes but Bray managed to clear their lines on all occasions. In a game of very few clear-cut chances, Limerick took the lead after twenty minutes when Clyde O’Connell played a superb cross that found the head of Ross Mann who guided the ball home. Limerick had more of the possession as the first half continued but carved out very few chances as the conditions played their part. Bray started the second half with the wind at their back and began to take a foothold in the game but couldn't find a way through the home defence. Limerick had one chance of note in the second half when good interplay between Feeney, O’Connell and Cusack saw Cusack’s effort deflected away to safety. The Seagulls' best chance of the game came with 15 minutes remaining when a 30m thunderbolt from Ryan Swan went just wide.
