Friendly Jackson Park 06 February 2010 Wanderers played host to premier division Sligo Rovers in their first pre-season outing of the year at Wayside Celtic’s Jackson Park in Kilternan. A bright opening from Bray saw Chris Shields's cross from the right just missed by Dane Massey coming in from the left on 13 minutes. Four minutes later John Mulroy fired just wide after Massey’s free kick from the left fell to him. Bray kept pressing and former Bray player Derek Foran, playing at centre half for Sligo, cleared under pressure after a fine cross from Daire Doyle. On 28 minutes another Massey free kick resulted in Mulroy’s header forcing Richard Brush to dive to his right and push the ball around his post. From the resultant corner Shields headed just over. Sligo’s only real chance of the opening period saw Massey clear off the Bray goal-line from a corner on 35 minutes. Sligo made eleven changes for the second half and looked the stronger with the fresher players in the opening stages after the break. On 70 minutes Shields was adjudged to have fouled former Bray player Gary McCabe just outside the Bray area. Richie Ryan fired the resultant free kick over the Bray wall and inside Brian Kane’s right-hand post to give the visitors the lead. Bray finished well with Ian Tuohy setting up Jake Kelly for a strike on goal on 80 minutes. On 87 minutes Shane O’Neill cut in from the right but shot straight at the Sligo keeper. The Wicklow side forced a few corners in the dying minutes but could not find a way past the Sligo rearguard.
