First Division Carlisle Grounds 25 Sep 2022 Another disappointing defeat for the Seagulls as the season gradually moves towards its end, though hardly unexpected with their visitors lying second in the table. The damage was largely done in the first half, with an early strike by the Blues in something of a gamouth scramble, Richard Taylor heading home despite close attention from Bray captain Hugh Douglas. Waterford top scorer Phoenix Patterson doubled their advantage with a superbly taken free just inside the half hour. Bray's efforts improved in the latter stages of the opening half but to no avail, and despite added impetus by the home side failed to make anything of their chances, with Colin Kelly failing to convert a penalty awarded for a handball by the Waterford defence, shooting low to Paul Martin's left, the keeper reading it well to save. From then on, the Bray side looked increasingly unnlikely to make a comeback, and Shane Griffin punished a momentary lack of concentration in the seconds after a brace of Wanderers substitutions to put the outcome further beyond reach.
