Bray Wanderers began their pre-season fixtures with a scoreless draw against First Division side UCD.

Paul O’Conor had an early shot after six minutes that was well saved by Students' keeper Conor Kearns.

Ger Pender had a snap shot just wide on the quarter hour mark.

But almost immediately, a ball from midfield out wide right was controlled by Kevin Coffey who held off the strong attentions of his marker, broke free and outpaced him to fire a wicked shot that Eric Donnelly struggled to push onto the post when it was eventually cleared.

The students went close again on 35 minutes when Georgie Kelly headed wide from a cross from the left.

Wanderers almost snatched the lead on 40 minutes when Ger Pender’s shot was saved by Kearns.

A minute later, Aaron Greene played in Jake Kelly on the right and his cross was deflected away for a corner.

Darragh Noone, Paul O’Conor and Hugh Douglas were at the centre of many of the Seagulls' most threatening moves.

Bray substitute Cory Galvin went close three times in the second half. His shot on 75 minutes forced Kearns to save.

On 80 minutes Jake Ellis set him up to shoot just over the bar.

And as time ran down, on 86 minutes he ran through the UCD defence but shot wide.
