Wanderers returned to winning ways at the expense of relegation-threatened Drogheda, who came close to rescuing a share of the points at the death.

A goal by popular Bray defender Hugh Douglas close to the end of a first half that had appeared to be shaded by the visitors was followed not long into the second period with a strike by Aaron Greene.

And though Chris Mulhall clawed one back for the Boynesiders, it wouldn't prove enough.

Shane Elworthy, finding space for a header from a 95th minute corner, couldn't keep the ball on target and the points stayed in Wicklow.

A cameo appearance by Bray youngster Jake Ellis created a new record: at just 16 years and five months, he's the Seagulls' youngest ever League of Ireland footballer.
