BRAY WANDERERS

LONGFORD TOWN

A useful turn-out, facing an unexpectedly lively Town team, and a result much in line with the "home" crowd's expectations.

Harry Kenny took the opportunity, with a competitive match during the coming week, to try out two distincT formations, the first seeming to give him a little more edge than the second.

Gary McCabe, sitting as a midfielder rather than a winger, was lively but failed to penetrate, and Dylan Connolly was frustrated by close marking from the Longford back four.

Ger Pender's goal came from a move up the right and a looping cross which the young man - himself a veteran of the midland team - lobbed neatly just behind Paul Skinner with the game still in its infancy.

And despite some threatening play (increasingly from the "visitors" during the second period) the score didn't change between then and the final whistle.
